Mrs. Davis Glass

Mary Emma Davis Glass, 94, passed away, on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at her home, in West Point. Mary Emma Davis Glass was born February 1, 1918 in Cedar Bluff, Mississippi to the late Emma Inez Taylor Davis and James Milton Davis. Mrs. Glass was a bookkeeper for Robinson Truck Lines for 25 years. Mary Emma Davis Glass married Marvin Albert Glass September 15, 1940, in Houlka, Mississippi. Mrs. Glass was a member of First Baptist Church; she loved to support missions and was very active in WMU, her Sunday School Class, as well as working in the church nursey. She was a gracious caregiver, opening her heart and home welcoming family and friends throughout her life. She was devoted to her family and beloved by her children and grandchildren. Family Graveside Services were held Thursday with Roland Moody, officiating, assisted by David Waide and Michael Raff. Burial was in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point was in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Marvin A. Glass of West Point; her daughters, Linda Glass Raff (Michael) of Jackson, Sandra Glass Waide (David) of West Point, special daughters: Mary Beth Moody (Roland) of Norcross, GA, Mary Carolyn Ellis of West Point, special son, Joe C. Rodgers (Carolyn) of Ft. Worth, TX; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. Those preceding her in death were Sally Will Davis, Lauretta Davis Strickland, Robert Taylor Davis, Ellis Cromwell Davis and Danny Ellis. Pallbearers were Whit Waide, Shandon Gunter, Matthew Raff, Ney Gehman, Woody Welch, Eric Moody, and Johnny Maxcy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Arnett, Edward Espinoza, Steve Mitchell, Bill Rodgers, John Rodgers, Joe Wray, Kenny Dill, Richard McBrayer, Randel Whitmire, John Elliott and employees at Clay County Co-Op and as well as her caregivers, Ethel Brown and Elnora Deanes.
