Mrs. Doris Ledbetter

Mrs. Doris Ledbetter, 89, passed away on July 3, 2019, at her home in the Tibbee Community near West Point. Mrs. Doris was born April 20, 1930, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of the late Lafayette Arnold, Sr. and Dellie Morris Moore. She was a homemaker and was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. She was a member of the West Point V.F.W., where she enjoyed dancing and playing bingo. She married Mr. Neily Ferrell "Pete" Ledbetter on June 14, 1953, in Bremerton, WA, and he passed away November 23, 2009. Mrs. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Doris was preceded in death by 3 Sisters: Ruth Martin, Peggy Knight, and Jean Smith, and by 3 Brothers: Lafayette Arnold Moore, Jr., Tom Moore, and Jimmy Moore. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Sallee officiating and assisted by Mr. Jimmy Nolan. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie L. Turman (Steve) of West Point and Kim L. White (Charlie) of Cedar Bluff; one son, William F. "Bubbie" Ledbetter of West Point, two grandsons: Carey B. Turman and Chris McCarter both of West Point; one sister, Lynn Atkinson (Mike) of Caledonia; A Number of Nieces and Nephews and her Canine Companion: Misty. Pallbearers will be Barry Martin, Terry Martin, Justin Atkinson, Tim Boatner, Mike Weeks, Jeff Cartee, Watkins Rye, and Jimmy Nolan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Julian Hill and Dr. Edmund A.
