Mr. Joseph Michael "Joey" Raines

Mr. Joseph Michael "Joey" Raines, 42, passed away on October 14, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Joey was born January 6, 1972, in West Point the son of Donald Roy and Elizabeth Taylor Raines. As a young man, he attended Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. He later attended Hebron Baptist Church near Pheba. He was a 1990 Graduate of West Point High School and a 1998 Graduate of Mississippi State University, Graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science. He was a Research Associate at Mississippi State University, working in the Chemical Regulatory Lab. He enjoyed weight lifting and watching football. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his two sons. He married Shannon Nichole Charles on December 20, 1997, in West Point. Funeral services will be Thursday, October, 16 2014, at 2:00 P.M from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Andy Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife: Shannon "Nicki" Raines; Two Sons, Charles Michael Raines and Stephen Joseph Raines all of Cedar Bluff; His Mother, Elizabeth Raines; and His Father Don Raines (Beth) both of West Point; One Sister, Connie Karg (Randy) of Columbus; Two Brothers, David Raines (Jan) of Maben, and Tim Raines (Betsy) of Jackson, TN; Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law: Lecil & Bea Charles of Cedar Bluff. Pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, David Raines, Tim Raines, Randy Karg, Doug Rhea, and Bert Parker. Memorials may be made to Hebron Christian School, 6230 Henryville Road, Pheba, Mississippi 39755. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
