Mrs. Joyce Lawson

Mrs. Joyce Lawson, 73, passed away on December 16, 2024 at her home in West Point. Joyce was born on September 9, 1951, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late R. D. and Bernice Edgeworth Sanders. She was a homemaker that enjoyed shopping and being with her family. She loved reading her Bible and writng down scriptures. She married Tommy Lawson on December 31, 2010, in Aliceville, Alabama. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Colburn, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Lawson of West Point: one son, Barry Cole; three grandchildren, and a host a numerous relatives. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Busbin, Tommy Allen Lawson, Billy Aldridge, Cecil Harrison, David Mashburn, and Joe Frost.
