Mrs. Marcelene Weed Stevenson Obituary (1932

Mrs. Marcelene Weed Stevenson, 85, passed away on July 13, 2017, at her residence, in West Point. Mrs. Marcelene was born on April 6, 1932, in Chickasaw County, to the late John and Savannah Earl Dill Weed. Mrs. Marcelene was a member of West End Baptist Church. Mrs. Marcelene retired from Bryan Foods, after working for 36 years. Mrs. Marcelene married James B. "Jimmy" Stevenson on March 14, 1959 in West Point. They were married for 58 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sisters and 4 Brothers. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Alvis Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her Husband, James B. "Jimmy" Stevenson of West Point; Her Four Daughters, Gail McMinn of Maben, Vickie Stevenson of West Point, Beverly Langford of West Point, and Tina Mercier (Robert) of West Point; Her Son, Larry Stevenson of Sugarland, TX, 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Mercier, Daniel McBrayer, Greg McMinn, Cliff McMinn, Brad Stevenson, Logan Stevenson, and Cliff Stevenson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Edmund Miller, Jr., Robert Mercier, Ray Weed, Sam Wiggs, Kim Estes, and Alvis Warren. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38015-1942. Visitation will be Saturday, 10:00-11:00 at Calvert Funeral Home.
