Mr. Marion E. "Punk" Dendy Obituary (1935

Mr. Marion "Punk" Dendy, 81, passed away on January 31, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. . Mr. Marion Dendy was born on September 28, 1935, in Chickasaw County, the son of the late Adron and Lorene Dendy. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. Mr. Marion was a Salesman with Bryan Foods for 35 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married Gaye Edwards on August 11, 1962, in the Cairo Community of Clay County. She predeceased him on October 2, 2016. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by Three Brothers; T.A., Phil, and Pete Dendy and by Three Sisters: Mary Rose Brand, Joyce Eaton and Josephine Dendy. Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, 2017, 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Danny Avery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Two daughters, Tania Garrard (Tony) of Olive Branch and Teresa Knighton (Morris) of Cedar Bluff; Two grandchildren; Amanda Knighton of West Point and Colin Garrard of Olive Branch; One great-grandson; Luke Knighton of West Point; one sister, Julie McMullen (Sam) of Columbus; Two Sister-In-Laws: Jean Dendy of Houston and Becky Dendy of West Point; one brother, Lamar Dendy (Cora) of Pine Bluff; a Brother-In-Law: Lonnie Brand of the Cairo Community and a number of Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Brand, Heath Brand, Terry Chrismond, Roger Davis, Charlie Newell, and Lance Watson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Joe Lee Pate.
