Mr. Milford R. Forrest

Mr. Milford R. Forrest, 81, passed away on January 23, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mr. Milford was born February 2, 1933, in Tangipahoa Parish, LA, the son of the late Herman Edward and Clyde C. Strickland Forrest. In the early years, Mr. Milford worked alongside his father as a dairyman. He later worked for Bryan Foods in West Point for 17 years, where he was a sanitation supervisor. He was an United States Air Force Veteran, where he served as a Drill Instructor. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Point. Mr. Milford was an avid gardener and fisherman. He also enjoyed trailriding. He had the time of his life when he was square dancing. He married Johanna Hamlin on April 21, 1957, in West Point. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sister: Donis M. Harris and by Two Brothers: Harold L. and Dr. William Dewey Forrest. Memorial services will be January 27, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from First Baptist Church in West Point with Reverend Dale Funderburg officiating and assisted by Dr. James Towery. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Wife Johanna Hamlin Forrest; Three Daughters, Robin Kitchens (Paul), Donna Forrest, and Leah Alonso (Tony) all of West Point; Six Grandchildren; Abby Lewis (Barry) of Haughton, LA, Cody Miller of Breckenridge, CO, Carson Miller of Breckenridge, CO, Blair Gerhart (Trey) of Millport, AL, Belinda Alonso of West Point, and Nick Alonso of West Point; Two Great Granddaughters; Sofi Clair Lewis and Ava Grace Gerhart and his Feline Companion "Boots". Honorary Pallbearers will be Barry Lewis, Cody Miller, Carson Miller, Carl Miller, Nick Alonso, Tony Alonso, Paul Kitchens, Gene Simmons, Trey Gerhart, and the Adult 6 Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
