Mrs. Patsy Edwards Pate

Mrs. Patsy Edwards Pate, 84, passed away on June 25, 2023, at her residence in Pheba. Patsy was born on September 15, 1938, in Webster County, to the late Henry and Gladys Edwards. She worked as a Receptionist for Eaves Animal Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She loved caring for her neighbors by preparing meals for them. She enjoyed working with her cattle. She married Leotis Pate on December 28, 1957, in Smithville and he predeceased her on August 8, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jenny Montana Pate, one grandson, Joshua Calvin Pate, and three brothers, Donald, Clifford, and Joel Edwards. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Mantee. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Barry Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Bluff Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Harpole (Steve) of Cedar Bluff: one son, Kenneth Pate (Chas) of Pheba: five grandchildren: Juan Pate (Gail) of Clarkson, Paige Winfield (Adam) of Cedar Bluff, Amber Gregory (Mason) of Cordova, Tennessee, Justin Harpole (Terasa) of Maben, and Jarrod Harpole (Brittney) of Mantee: ten great-grandchildren: two sisters, Ruth McMullen (De Lane) and Diane Raines, both of Maben: one sister-in-law, Mary Evelyn Edwards of West Point: a number of nieces and nephews, and a canine companion, Charlie. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Edwards, Bruce Edwards, Steve McMullen, Toby McMullen, Glen Pate, and David Sehrt. Honorary Pallbearers will be De Lane McMullen, Andy Moore, her caregivers, Pauline, Peggy, Irene, and Michelle, Friends at Pine Bluff Baptist Church, and the Nurses and Staff of Sanctuary Home Hospice.
