Mrs. Peggy McGibbony Goode

Mrs. Peggy McGibbony Goode, 81, passed away on January 9, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mrs. Peggy was born September 2, 1933, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the daughter of the late George Denton and Ola Lee Hill McGibbony. She was an United States Air Force Veteran. Mrs. Peggy retired in 1995 from Mississippi State University, where she served as the Administrative Secretary to the President. She was very active in the Mississippi Republican Party. She was an avid reader. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend. She was a friendly person who loved to work and will be remembered as the "Greeter" at Wal-Mart in West Point. She was a longtime member of the West Point Luncheon Civitan Club, where she held numerous positions, and was currently serving as President-Elect. She attended West End Baptist Church. She married Richard "Dick" Goode on June 19, 1977, in West Point and he passed away August 19, 2000. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Harrod Earl McGibbony, Sr. Funeral services will be Monday, January 12, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Roy Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Enon/Big Springs Cemetery Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include One Daughter, Karen Stepp Wiseman (Roger) of Hattiesburg; Two Sons, Keith Alan Stepp (Nani) of Clarksdale, TN, and Karl F. Stepp (Lynn) of Daytona Beach, FL; Two Grandsons: Lee Allen Wiseman and Adam Kelly Wiseman both of Hattiesburg; Two Nieces: Debra Wray (Jerry) and Kay Craven (Randy) both of West Point; One Nephew: Harrod "Mack" E. McGibbony, Jr. (Wendy) of Reidsville, NC; and a Number of Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Pallbearers will be Lee Wiseman, Alexander Millsaps, Samuel Millsaps, Wesley Millsaps, Roger Wiseman, and Jerry Wray. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Members of West Point Luncheon Civitan Club and Her Fellow Associates at Wal-Mart.
