Mr. Raymond E. "Pete" Linley Obituary (1939

Mr. Raymond E. "Pete" Linley, 79, passed away on February 12, 2018 at his residence, in West Point. Mr. Raymond E. "Pete" Linley, was born on February 7, 1939, in Marion County, AL, the son of the late Wiley Anderson and Evie Burlesson Linley. Mr. Pete was a welder for CECO in Columbus for 35 years. Mr. Pete was a member of the Church of God in Refuge. Before attending the Church of God in Refuge, he helped build the Church of the Living Water. Mr. Pete was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Pete was a memberof the Barton Ferry Hunting Club. Mr. Pete enjoyed attending Flea Markets. Mr. Pete loved eating at The Tin Lizzie. Mr. Pete was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Mr. Pete married Mary Frances Kendricks Linley in 1976. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2011. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Pat Norton and two sisters: Nila Davis and Vivle Linley. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kirk Chapman officiating and assisted by Brother Larry Reese. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His two daughters, Gayle Jenkins (Wesley) and Linda Brisbine, both of West Point: His three sons, Zackary Doster of West Point, James A. "Smokey" Doster (Susie) of Grenada, and Bro. Wayne Doster of West Point: one sister: Nellie Mays of West Point: a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Wayne Doster, Shannon Doster, Lee Keenum, Tommy Henley, Tucker Henley, and Wesley Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nurses and Staff of Camelia Hospice and Members of the Barton Ferry Hunting Club. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
