Mr. Richard Rape

Mr. Richard Rape, 71, passed away on August 29, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Richard was born December 22, 1944, in Okolona the son of the late Sherman Lee and Dolly Agnes Bressler Rape, Sr. He was a Baptist. He retired from the West Point Fire Department after serving 30 years. He was also a Truck Driver for Clay County District 3. He married Brenda Carol Bateman on March 3, 2015, in West Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida Bess Langford Rape; his son, Richie Rape; Three Sisters, Dorothy Jean Norwood, Mildred Bailey, and Mary Burkholder and by Three Brothers, John Melvin Rape, Noel E. Rape, and Roy Lee Rape. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Allen Dees officiating. Burial will follow in Enon/Big Springs Cemetery near Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife: Brenda C. Rape; Daughter, Chelsea Rape; Son, Austin Rape all of West Point; and One Brother, Sherman Lee Rape, Jr. (Joyce) of Grenwood. Pallbearers will be Kenny Wilkerson, Nathan Osburn, Rick Gibson, Dillan Gibson, Ken Wilbourne, and Reginald Gardner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of the West Point Fire Department and the Employees of Clay County District 3.
