Mr. Richie Hartwig, Jr. Obituary (1966

Mr. Richard Kenneth Hartwig, Jr., 56, passed away on June 12, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Richie was born on September 19, 1966, in Cook County, Illinois, to the late Larry Joe and Phyllis Boyd Trulove. He was a Superintendent for Pryor Construction for 20 years. He enjoyed dancing and playing the harmonica. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially shooting guns, riding in his Jeep, and canoeing. He was an avid and accomplished cook and especially enjoyed barbecuing and outdoor grilling. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Samantha Norton Hartwig on September 12, 2009, in West Point. He attended Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raleigh Richter officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Samantha F. Hartwig of Cedar Bluff: two daughters, Amber Eads (Zack) of Millport, Alabama, and Mikki Clardy (Caleb) of West Point: one son, Timothy Hartwig (Blakely) of Cedar Bluff: five grandchildren, Maddox River Guy of Millport, Alabama, Cole Ellis of Cedar Bluff, Brody McBrayer of Cedar Bluff, Brody Clardy of West Point, and Chloe Lynn Randall of West Point: three sisters, JoAnn Trulove of Cedar Bluff, Laura McKee (Toby) of Maben, and Jodi Anderson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina: one brother-in-law, Brian "Tweety" Norton (Tina) of West Point: his canine companion, Buddy, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Zack Eads, Brody Clardy, Josh Norton, Adam Winfield, Josiah McKee, and Joseph McKee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Mollie Deshazo, Co-workers at Pryor Construction, and the Nurses and Staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle.
