Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Lee, Jr. Obituary (1942

Mr. Robert E. "Bob" Lee, Jr., 74, passed away on October 29, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Mr. Bob was born March 26, 1942, in Corona, AL, the son of the late Robert Ewing and Inez Willcutt Lee, Sr. Mr. Bob was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. He was an avid and accomplished woodworker that enjoyed making wooden crosses and giving them away with the understanding that no credit be given to him, but all of the glory was to be given to God. Mr. Bob's motto was; I have "Precious Memories" of what God's "Amazing Grace" has done for me. He worked as an A1 Operator at Conoco in Aberdeen for 24 years. He then was a truck driver for Royal Trucking in West Point. He also worked as a handyman for Dr. Bill Billington. He married Mrs. Doris Ann Jackson on April 8, 1961, in Aberdeen. Mr. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, but his true love was his God. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. from West End Baptist Church with Reverend Jerome Key officiating and assisted by Brother Bill Lee and Reverend Chris Layton. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery near Aberdeen. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include His Wife Doris A. Lee of West Point; Two Daughters, Angela MeLancon (Leo) of St. Augustine, FL and Patience Thompson (John) of Grovetown, GA; One Son, Robert Lee (Patty) of Fulton; Eleven Grandchildren; Two Sisters, Gloria Petro (Andy) of Leland, and Betty Sue Lee of Jackson, and Two Brothers, Bro. Bill Lee (Janice) of Grenada, and Tommy Lee (Jennie) of Tupelo. Pallbearers will be John Thompson, Jesse Vaden, Scott Lee, Kendall Davis, Danny Davis, Matthew Vaden, Joshua Vaden, and James G. Lee, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill MaHarrey, Milton Ray, Gary Scott, Timmy Wright, Charles Davis, Dr. Bill Billington, The Nurses and Staff of Sanctuary Hospice House, and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the 5 West Oncology Ward at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 West Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801-0200. Visitation will be Monday 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home and Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church in West Point.
