Mrs. Ruth Alice "Tunnie" Moore Obituary (1931

Mrs. Ruth Alice "Tunnie" Moore, 84, passed away on October 16, 2015, at her residence in Montpelier. Mrs. "Tunnie" was born September 12, 1931, in Clay County, the daughter of the late Ed Madison and Claude and Roxie Millsaps. She was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church in Montpelier. She was a homemaker. She was an avid and accomplished cook that loved nothing more than cooking for her family and friends. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed vegetable gardening and sharing the fruits of her labor with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved babysitting. She loved sharing times with her family and friends, and especially her grandchildren at Chucke Cheese. She married Hugh Milton Moore on October 5, 1951, in Prairie, and he passed away November 5, 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: H.M. Moore; her grandson: Matt Moore; her two sisters: Mary Brock and Lorene Miller; and by Six Brothers: Calvin Madison, Jack Madison, Bobby Madison, Mick Millsaps, David Millsaps, and Louis Millsaps. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from Palestine United Methodist Church near Montpelier with Brother Eddie Brock, Brother Harold Robinson, and Brother Carey Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery with Dr. James Towery officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her Daughter, Bonnie Moore Thompson and Keith; and Her Son, Andy Moore and Susan; A Daughter-in-Law: Vickie Moore all of Montpelier; Six Grandchildren: Tabatha Smith (Bo) of Mantee, Ryan Moore of Montpelier, Will Moore (Tiffany) of Oxford, Laura Beth Moore of Monroe, LA, Bridget Thompson Shows (Murray) of Montpelier, and Jordan Thompson of Montpelier and Five Great Grandchildren: Tyler Kilcrease, Hunter and Ainslyn Smith, and Coleman and Jase Shows A number of Nieces and Nephews and Extended Family. Pallbearers will be Johnny Palmertree, Chester Patterson, Gary Brock, Danny Clardy, Stephen Moore, Brad Williamson, and Scott Reed. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Andrew Wartak, Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Home Health Care and Hospice, Palestine United Methodist Church Family, Virginia Langley, and Arthur and Louise Parker.
